Who we are and what we do?
Creative Enterprise Zones are a Mayor of London initiative to designate areas of London where artists and creative businesses can find permanent affordable space to work; are supported to start-up and grow; and where local people are helped to learn creative sector skills and access pathways to employment.
The London Borough of Waltham Forest is the Data Controller for the Creative Enterprise Zone (CEZ), Blackhorse Lane and we are responsible for collecting and processing your personal information. Processing includes the organisation, retrieval, consultation, use and deletion or destruction of information and its disclosure to other agencies.
Information we hold about you
When you engage with the CEZ website the Council may need to process the following personal data about you:
- First name
- Last name
- Address
- Telephone number
- Email address
- Business name
- IP address
- Website usage tracking data
Use of IP address
We capture the IP address of users who use access the CEZ website. The website does not automatically capture or store personal information, other than logging the user’s IP Address or the location of your computer or network on the Internet, for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes. If you are connected to the Internet, you have an IP address.
Cookies
To support the CEZ project and to improve this site for users we sometimes place small data files on your computer. These are known as cookies. They improve things by:
- remembering settings, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you visit a new page;
- remembering information you’ve given so you don’t need to keep entering it;
- measuring how you use the website so we can make sure it meets your needs.
We use Google Analytics to collect information about how people use this site. We do this to make sure it’s meeting its users’ needs and to understand how we could do it better.
Google Analytics stores information about what pages you visit, how long you are on the site, how you got here and what you click on. We do not collect or store your personal information (eg your name or address) so this information cannot be used to identify who you are. We do not allow Google to use or share our analytics data

Your personal details will not normally be disclosed to third parties. In some circumstances however we may need to disclose your personal details to a third party so that they can provide a service you have requested, or fulfill a request for information. Any information about you that we pass to a third party will be held securely by that party, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, and used only to provide the services or information you have requested.
We will not use your personal data for third-party marketing purposes without your prior express consent.
How long do we keep your information?
We will keep your information on our records as long you remain a customer plus six years unless you unsubscribe or request us to delete your data.
